This biome contains a mix of succulent plant species in a low rainfall area lying in the rain shadow of the South Cape Mountains of South Africa (Karoo), as well as semi-desert plant species and bushes adapted to life in the arid interior (Nama-Karoo). This biome doesn’t naturally support many games species, but the Springbuck and Gemsbuck are found commonly in this area.
