Thickets in the Eastern Cape of South Africa are comprised of dense impenetrable vegetation dominated by spiny, often succulent trees and shrubs. This transitional vegetation area, between the drier Karoo and wetter Forests, can support large populations of game, including Greater Kudu (sometimes recognised as Eastern Cape Kudu), warthog and Bushbuck (especially in riverine thickets).
